Southbound US 23 was shut down for hours Sunday afternoon after two people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident caused by a man driving the wrong way.

The accident occurred Sunday (4/8) at about 3 pm near 6 Mile Rd. in the Ann Arbor area.

State police tell WXYZ that a 74-year-old man driving a Chevy Bolt struck another vehicle, killing both passengers. Two other vehicles were involved in the accident. The occupants of those vehicles and the 74-year-old man are recovering from their injuries.
