‘Turbo’ Trailer: Ryan Reynolds is a Cartoon Snail
Yes, you're reading that headline correctly -- in the first teaser for DreamWorks Animation's newest family film 'Turbo,' Ryan Reynolds gets animated... as a snail.
DreamWorks Animation has released the first teaser for their upcoming film 'Turbo,' which stars the voice of Ryan Reynolds as an average garden snail with not-so-average ambitions. Turbo the snail had dreams of becoming the fastest snail in the world, but he's just too slow for racing, but then a freak accident occurs that might allow him to fulfill his hopes after all.
The first teaser is a bit of a bait-and-switch as we watch racers speed around a track before the action scales down to introduce us to Turbo as he struggles to push himself fast enough in the wee morning hours to race the length of a ruler. It's pretty cute, but it's hard to know much from the brief teaser alone.
Joining Reynolds is a top-notch voice cast, including Paul Giamatti, Bill Hader, Luis Guzman, Maya Rudolph, Michael Pena, Richard Jenkins, Kurtwood Smith, Ben Schwartz (Jean-Ralphio of 'Parks and Recreation'), and... Snoop Dogg. Yup, that Snoop Dogg.
Check out the first teaser below for 'Turbo,' which crawls into theaters next summer on July 19, 2013.
