Meet Olive, who has been at an animal shelter for so long that her intake records don't even exist anymore.
Olive had lived at the Yonkers Animal Shelter in New York for over a decade. Pit bulls are hard enough to get adopted out, and pit bulls rising in age are even more difficult.
Her Facebook picture said, "If ever there was a dog who deserved to be doted on, spoiled and given the best of everything, it has to be Olive This girl has lived behind bars her whole life, and has never known the warmth and kindness of a forever home."
Volunteers doted on her and treated her like a princess, but they said it "wasn't hard" to impress her, because all she knew was a life at the shelter.

Olive's new mom, who declined to give her name, said, "I was going to be taking her home as long as she accepted me."
"Our meeting was calm and peaceful like two old friends sitting down for a spot of tea," she says.
What an amazing person to take this sweet girl home!
