Free event - Woodchips BBQ hosting Freedom Fest 2023 in Lapeer.

This is the fourth year in a row Woodchips BBQ has provided free Christmas meals.

Woodchips BBQ in Lapeer is hosting a totally free Fourth of July community celebration at Torzewski Park. This event features free entry to the park, free food, and more.

This is way cool, considering the fact that restaurants have suffered financially for the past 11 months. A Lapeer East graduate and Woodchips BBQ owner Patrick Hingst, paid off lunch balances for Lapeer Community school students...

"At the end of the day, we had to figure out what we can do to take care of our team."

The owner wants to "break the cycle" and inspire others to give during the holidays.
