Memorial Day

Talk about bizarre weather. Three-feet of snow fell on parts of upstate New York yesterday.

Sometimes we get wrapped up in our day to day lives and forget why we call certain days holidays. The meaning of Memorial day sometimes gets lost in that shuffle.

A crowd of several thousand veterans, families, and friends are expected to attend a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring deceased veterans interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery at 4200 Belford Road in Holly. This is the 8th annual observance and it is set for 1pm Sunday, May 26th.

Today is Memorial Day, and whether you agree or disagree with our military presence in the Middle East, we should all be thankful for the brave men and women who are their fighting for our right to be Americans!
