Genesee County ranked fifth in Michigan for liquor spending in 2025, totaling nearly $75 million. While that number is slightly down from last year, it still shows strong demand across the county.

Last year it was made legal to sell alcoholic beverages at the same time on Sundays as the rest of the week. The law was supposed to give communities the choice of opting out of Sunday morning sales but an oversight made it more of an all or none situation.
