Deer hunting season starts on November 15th, so with most of the guys heading for deer camp it's time for the girls to have a night out. Monday, November 14th at Crossroads Village from 4-9 pm is Ladies Night Out at Crossroads. Shop a lot, eat chocolate, do free take-and-make crafts and indulge in holiday taste treats in the Village's historic homes, all decked out for the holidays.

Pardon the spelling, but a few years back when race organizer Terry Castor started this event he got the spelling wrong on Hogbacks which is part of the Genesee County Park area where the race is run. Here's a chance to see Crossroads Village from a different perspective, as a runner or walker.  You'll go through the Village and the surrounding woods and meadows, probably visiting parts of Crossroads that few ever get to see.

Have you had a chance to visit any of the Genesee County Parks? If you haven't, this week there are plenty of activities going on for you and the family. Tonight, there's a healthy foods "picnic style" demonstration going on at Buell Lake County Park and a Crimfit family walking club at Flushing County Park.

The Genesee County Parks and Recreation commission recently voted to allow Mushroom hunting on county park property.  If you are a morel lover, this is good news!
