Detroit Tiger first baseman Miguel Cabrera has pleaded no contest to a drunken driving charge in Florida. The incident occurred last February near Ft. Pierce, Florida when the Tiger slugger was arrested after refusing a field sobriety test. Cabrera accepted a deal that spares him jail time. Charges of resisting an officer without violence and having an open container in a vehicle were dropped.

Rick Springfield, arrested for drunk driving on May 1st, was apparently upset when he was told by police that his 1963 Chevrolet Corvette was going to be towed.  "If you tow my car, I will f---ing kill you and your family."

Rocker Rick Springfield was arrested Sunday night in Malibu, CA, and charged with a DUI. According to TMZ, police initially pulled over the 61-year-old for a traffic violation. However, when they noticed the smell of alcohol, Springfield was subjected to two failed sobriety tests, where he measured a .10 and a .08.

The Tigers are off to a bad start, even with opening day over a month away.  Tigers' First Baseman Miguel Cabrera was arrested late Wednesday in Florida on drunken driving charges, and resisting an officer without violence.  To make matters worse, he took a swig from a bottle in the presence of a county sheriff's officer.
