9/11 Anniversary

Nearly 3,000 lives were lost in the September 11th attacks, including dozens with ties to Michigan. The youngest was 22, the oldest 60. Here is the full list of Michigan’s victims.

The horrific September 11, 2001, attacks claimed the lives of 2997 individuals. Of those, 42 were from Michigan, and 2 from Genesee County. Today we honor them.

When I think back to September 11, 2001, I remember the chaos, the anger, the fear, and the confusion that surged through all of us. I also remember feelings of mourning for those that we lost, thankfulness for those who helped rescue those who could be saved, and unity as the country came together as one.
