Singer Eddie Money Dies at 70

Eddie Money, the singer songwriter that brought us such iconic hits as “Two Tickets to Paradise”, "Take Me Home Tonight", and "Baby Hold On" has passed away at the age of 70.

His family released a statement this morning letting his fans know of his passing. The statement reads,  “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”

The singer  had numerous health problems as of late including heart valve surgery earlier this year and pneumonia after the procedure, leading to his cancellation of a planned summer tour. He was battling stage 4 esophageal cancer.

Known for being one of the first  concerts for years at DTE Music Theatre, Money played there on May 25th, which ended up as one of his very last concerts ever.

Eddie Money is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Laurie, and his 5 children: Zachary, Jessica, Joseph, Julian, and Desmond.
