Why not? We can't seem to stop the flow of guns into the hands of criminals. Here's what we're thinking. As Flint struggles to quell violence that has contributed to a jump in homicides we think there should be a tax on the sale of every bullet. A tax of a nickel for each bullet  sold in Genesee County.

The tax would generate money that would be used for various county services including medical care for gunshot victims. Law enforcement officials would not have to pay the tax. It would apply to  federally licensed gun dealers in the county.

The idea is to give a very poor county more money to work with. What do you think?
