The countdown to Christmas is on. Are you ready?

I think the holidays are most stressful for people that have kids. If you purchase gifts for them early, you have to hide them. If you wait until the last minute to shop (like my parents always did), you run the risk of not being able to find some items that your kids are asking for.

Now that I am an adult, I look back at Christmas Eve and many things make sense now that did not when I was a child. My sisters and I were never allowed in the basement on Christmas Eve - I now know the reason, my mother was wrapping our Christmas presents. I just thought she was sick of us (probably a little of that too).

I have vivid memories of my parents telling us to watch out the living room window for Santa Claus. My sisters and I would stand there for hours. I was always first to say - I see him! What a moron. Nonetheless, looking out the window for Santa Clause kept us out of my parent's hair. You can do the same with your kids this Christmas Eve, however, you have a few options,

  1. Track Santa Claus by staring out the living room window
  2. Track Santa Claus through a mobile app - Norad Tracks Santa
  3. Track Santa Claus on the Norad Santa website.
  4. Track Santa Claus on the phone at 1-877-HI-NORAD

I'm old school, so I say make them stare out a window, but it is your call. This could be just another holiday tradition for you and your kids on Christmas Eve or a good reason to lock yourself in the basement and wrap presents as my mom did.
