Michigan Teens Can Score a Free Gym Membership All Summer Long
If you've got a teenager looking for something productive to do this summer, or maybe you just want them doing something besides staring at their phone all day, Planet Fitness is bringing back a deal that might actually get them off the couch.
Starting June 1, Planet Fitness is bringing back its High School Summer Pass program, which means teens can work out for free all summer.

How Old Do You Have to Be to Get the Free Planet Fitness Membership?
If you're between 14 and 19 years old, you're good to go. That means free access to participating Planet Fitness locations all summer long through August 31. Which is pretty awesome if you have a teen who actually wants to work out.
Teens will have access to cardio equipment, strength machines, stretching areas, and other workout equipment.
How Michigan Teens Can Get a Free Planet Fitness Membership
Signing up is pretty simple. Teens can register online through the Planet Fitness Summer Pass program before heading to the gym. Once registered, they'll be able to use the location they signed up for throughout the summer.
One thing to know: participants must work out at the club they register with and can't use multiple locations. Fair enough.
Is the Planet Fitness Summer Pass Program Worth It?
In theory, absolutely.
If teens actually use it to work out, it's a fantastic deal.
My only concern is the same one a lot of regular gym-goers probably have. Hopefully, they're there to exercise and not just hang out with friends, stare at their phones, and tie up machines that other people want to use.
This happens all the time, and it's so annoying.
