Genesee County residents finally have an answer for what would replace BD’s Mongolian BBQ on Miller Road. Not only an answer, but now you can actually go in and try it for yourself.

After sitting empty since late 2024, the building has officially reopened as Joe’s Yummy Bowl Stir Fry and Sushi. And yes, it brings that same build-your-own vibe people loved at BD’s, only with more options and a new, fresher feel.

If you were a BD’s regular, this place is going to feel very familiar. You still pick your ingredients and watch your stir fry come together right in front of you, but now the menu goes bigger. We are talking ramen, hand-rolled sushi, poke-style bowls, and the thing everyone keeps raving about, Korean fried chicken.

They even have a robot cruising around serving apps and sushi. At least that is what people on social media are saying.

A lot of people in the area were bummed when BD’s closed because they thought they were losing the only spot that offered that kind of vibe. Turns out they were wrong.

Flint finally has a new stir-fry and sushi spot, and judging by the comments we have seen on the Flint Flood Scene Facebook page, people are really digging it.

Samantha Yeager:

We tried Joe's Yummy Bowl, which is the new restaurant located where BD's Mongolian Grill used to be. It was so good! Super clean, everything was fresh!
It was nice to see the grill still being utilized. It was a lot like Mongo. The new owners did a great job with the decor and upgrades. 10/10 we will be back!
If there is one thing we love to see in Flint, it is a new restaurant, and this one feels like it is off to a solid start.
