Road construction season in Michigan is far from over, as more orange barrels and closed/detour signs continue popping up throughout Genesee County.

While much of the road work we endure is necessary, it can still be a real pain when you're trying to get to your destination. It's even worse when you don't know it's happening until you roll up and come face-to-face with a detour sign.

Before something like that happens to you, we want to make you aware of two I-75 ramps that will be closed starting next week.

Due to patching and resurfacing work, the Michigan Department of Transportation has announced the closure of the northbound I-75 ramp to I-69 and the Bristol Road ramp to northbound I-75/I-69.

Drivers heading to the northbound I-75 ramp to I-69 will need to take a detour using northbound I-75 and Miller Road to loop back onto southbound I-75/I-69.

For the Bristol Road ramp, traffic will be detoured west on Bristol Road to get onto I-69.

When Will the I-75 Ramp Closures Go Into Effect?

The ramps will be closed starting Monday, September 23.

When Will the Ramps Reopen?

The project is expected to be completed by October 5.

When Does Road Construction End for the Season in Michigan?

This is a tough question to answer because, well, we live in Michigan after all. There isn’t really a specific date that marks the end of construction here. Technically, it's all up to our dear friend, Mother Nature. However, most projects do wrap up in November.
