Inappropriate Wet T-Shirt Picture Of Hastings Student Posted On Facebook
A Hastings mother is very upset after discovering inappropriate photos of her 10-year-old daughter had been posted on a private Facebook group for Central Elementary School's fourth-grade parents.
Kristen Selvig learned about the incident from another parent who called to set up a playdate on the last day of school.
The photos, taken during a field day event two weeks prior, showed her daughter wearing a white tank top that had become completely soaked during water activities, making it see-through.
The images had been visible to all parents in the grade for almost two weeks before she was made aware of them.
Selvig, who told Fox 17 she rarely uses Facebook, was shocked to learn about the photos and their public nature.
Selvig said that other parents had also complained about the photos, but no action was taken until she personally contacted the school administration office.
The images have since been removed from the Facebook group.
Selvig is now reconsidering whether to allow her children to be photographed at school events in the future.
She is now seeking an apology for her daughter and hopes to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
I'm surprised that the pictures in question were even uploaded to the Facebook page in the first place.
But then after getting several complaints from other parents you would think they would pulled down.
It's unfortunate that this happened, but hopefully it can be a learning lesson for everyone involved to think before you post something online.
