When I was young and had a bottomless pit for a stomach, I once powered down three Whoppers in one sitting.  That would barely make a dent in the world record Bacon Cheeseburger grilled on Sunday in Minnesota.

At the Black Bear Casino in tiny Carlton, Minnesota, chefs cooked up the humongous burger that weighed in at over a ton (2000 lbs).

The massive burger was garnished with over 60 pounds of bacon, 50 pounds of lettuce, 50 pounds of sliced onions, 40 pounds of pickles and 40 pounds of American cheese.

The burger was cooked in a giant outdoor oven and a crane was used to do the flipping.  It took four hours to bake.

Philip Robertson, adjudicator from Guinness World Records was present to verify the record.  Robertson said "I get the privilege of seeing amazing things every week.  What I saw today was a feat of remarkable teamwork that resulted in a world record burger that actually tastes really good."

The finished product was given away free of charge to spectators and guests.
