The Jewish observance of Yom Kippur begins at sundown tonight and lasts until sunset tomorrow evening.  Yom Kippur is considered the holiest day in the Jewish Calendar and is the "Day of Atonement."

Those observing Yom Kippur will spend it by fasting, prayer and repentance.  It is customary in the days before Yom Kippur for Jews to seek out family and friends whom they have wronged and personally ask for forgiveness.

The Chicago White Sox rescheduled their game from tonight to this afternoon in observance of this holy day.
