The 1st annual YMCA Santa Run attracted a stampede of 800 Santas last year. I was one of the Ho-ho-ho herd, and am pretty excited to do it again this Saturday (Dec. 3). The YMCA of Greater Flint Santa Run/Walk is a charity event featuring a 5k and 1 mile route around downtown Flint. The event is not timed and is open to everyone. Run, walk, bring your family and friends. Strollers are welcome! This event was a lot of fun and looks to be much bigger this year. The start/finish is at the Flint YMCA at 411 E. Third Street. The event begins at noon.
Everyone who signs up gets a 5-piece Santa Suit which you get to keep. Wear your running/walking clothes underneath. Late registration for adults is still just $30 (that includes your Santa suit!) and kids 12 and under can sign up for just $15. Santa suits will be available to pick up at Bauman's Running and Walking shop on Hill road near Van Slyke on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and at the YMCA on Saturday from 10 am until the event begins at noon. Proceeds benefit the YMCA of Greater Flint Partner with Youth Campaign.

There will also be a collection of donated toys for Toys for Tots and of used shoes for Carriage Town Ministries at the event. Those who donate will be entered into a drawing for running apparel and shoes from Bauman's.

See you at the Santa Run, with bells on!
