If you don't like the taste of energy drinks or coffee but still need the kick in the pants that caffeine provides, Wrigley has an option for you and it will be in stores next month.

The 'Wall Street Journal' is reporting that Wrigley's Alert Energy Gum will be in stores as soon as next month. The pieces of gum, shaped like hexagons, will have 40 mg of caffeine. That's as much as half a cup of coffee.

Wrigley is sensitive to the health concerns that are associated with caffeine consumption, especially in regards to young people. Alert Energy Gum will have a warning label on the packaging that states that the caffeinated gum is "not recommended for children or persons sensitive to caffeine."

Do you think that caffeinated gum is necessary? Will you let your kids chew Alert Energy gum?
