The home is being championed by the Veterans Wounded Warriors Foundation.

The 90-year-old house is in the College Cultural area of Flint. It has six bedrooms, and new LED lights as well as more efficient insulation is being added to the house. Markeic Patrick and Tobias Lerke, from the Veterans Wounded Warriors Foundation, said that they want the house to be a place of "natural healing."

When veterans arrive, they'll be counseled, and if they're interested, will be offered help in enrolling at U of M-Flint or Mott. Vets who utilize the home won't be charged until they're "financially stable."
