Woman Stuck At Airport For Eight Days Over Baggage Fees

A woman spent eight days at the airport because she couldn't afford to pay $60 in baggage fees. She was on her way to Iowa to start a new life and all she had was two bags, her ticket and $30. She asked if she could pay the fee once she landed but the airline told her no.

She also offered to keep her bags at the airport and fly without them but the airline still told her no. While she was calling friends for help, she missed her flight and was told she would have to rebook it, which would cost $1,000. She ended up sleeping at the airport for eight days until one of the airport churches gave her the money for the ticket change fee as well as her baggage fees. Was the airline too harsh?
