A Michigan woman was arrested on Sunday for leaving three young children inside a hot minivan outside a Meijer store.

Police were called to the Meijer store in Clinton Twp. where three girls, ages two, three, and six, were left unattended. Cops were able to coax the six-year-old to unlock the vehicle. The children emerged from the car, drenched in sweat. They were immediately given water by the police officers that responded to the incident.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene checked the kids out and determined that they had not suffered permanent injuries, according to WJBK.

A 37-year-old woman from Mt. Clemons was arrested as she exited the store. She is the mother of two of the children and an aunt to the third.

The woman told police that she had come out of the store several times to check on the children, but officers who reviewed the surveillance video found that not to be true.
