It was a great weekend for the Tigers and the Lions, but not so much for the Wolverines.  Not only did they lose their game against Minnesota, but the University of Michigan has found themselves at the center of a huge controversy that has outraged the nation.

During Saturday's game, quarterback Shane Morris was knocked to the ground suffering a concussion.  Everyone watching the game at the stadium and on TV saw the hit, including the television and radio commentators.  But apparently none of the coaching staff or medical staff were actually watching the game and somehow didn't see Morris go down on the field.

Morris had suffered an ankle injury earlier in the game.  Apparently when he got up from being sacked and was unable to stand on his own, the medical staff thought it was related to his ankle.  He was left in for one more play before being called off the field.  The medical examiners apparently looked at his ankle, but didn't check him for a concussion before he returned to the field for another play.

Hoke spoke at a press conference yesterday, claiming that he didn't see the hit and was unaware that Hoke had a concussion.  In fact, he avoided using that word in front of the press.  He also claimed that he had not talked to U of M Athletic Director, Dave Brandon, about the situation since it happened on Saturday afternoon.

It gets more interesting now that Dave Brandon released a press release.  What makes the press release so interesting is not only that it conflicts with Hoke's comments during Monday's press conference, but Brandon's statement was released today at 1:00 in the morning. Did he think that in this digital age of technology that no one would notice.

If you were Shane Morris' parents, would you demand that Coach Hoke be terminated?  It's not like the Wolverines have had outstanding performances since Hoke took over. In fact, it's quite the opposite in the form of a downward spiral since Brady Hoke took over as Michigan's head coach.
