Driving through Detroit isn't pleasant anyway...how would you like to see this in your rear view mirror?

Today, during Detroit's morning rush hour, city police officers attempted to stop a white SUV for reckless driving. When the driver refused to pull over, a pursuit started in the city, then on to Southfield Road, and then to east bound I-696. Speeds reached 110 mph. Police forced the suspects to exit at Mound Road only to have the white SUV veer left on to the shoulder to get back on I-696. The vehicle finally came to a stop soon after, in the city of Warren. Police think that the vehicle ran out of gas or was suffering some sort of mechanical failure.

Police converged on the SUV with guns drawn, and there was a brief stand-off. The vehicle was stolen. Inside, cops found two minors who aren't cooperating at this time. Officers are also searching for an object, probably a weapon, that was thrown out of a window during the chase. The two minor suspects have been taken into custody.

Several vehicles were damaged during this morning's dangerous pursuit, but no serious injuries have been reported.
