Last Day of 2014 School Year for Flint, Genesee County

I've spoken to each school directly to verify this information.

Check the list for your student's final day of school.

Our record breaking winter weather caused a lot of chaos for our local schools. Throw some power outages and water main breaks into the mix and you end up with more than the state's allotted snow days.

Some area schools are still in the process of wrapping up some details with the state of Michigan and their teacher's unions, but here's what we have so far.

I have called these schools directly to ensure the accuracy of this information and will continue to update this list as I get more information.

*Birch Run Schools - Undecided, will announce after spring break
*Powers Catholic High School - Added 11 minutes to each school day,
final day for students is June 12
*Imlay City Schools - June 20 with a 1/2 day is their tentative end to the
school year
*Carman Ainsworth Schools - Undecided, will announce within the next couple of
weeks
*Lapeer Community Schools - Varies by building; Turrill Elementery, school now
now in session April 21, May 5, May 23...Last day for students June 13. For Lynch
Elementary, April 21 and May 23 will now be in session...June 19 will finish their year.
for all others, including the high schools, April 21 and May 23 will now be in
session. June 18 will end their school year with a full day
*Clio - Undecided, announcement pending
*Fenton - Will announce after spring break
*Lake Fenton - Will announce this week
*Holy Rosary Catholic School, Flint - Final day is June 13
*Linden - Last day for students is June 17, with a 1/2 day
*Goodrich Schools - Undecided, announcement pending
*Beecher Schools - Final day for students is June 20
*North Branch - Last day is June 13, with a full day
*Swartz Creek Schools - Last day will be a 1/2 day on June 18
*Chesaning Community Schools - Final day is a 1/2 day on June 17
*Owosso Schools - Undecided, announcement pending
*Durand - Extended by six days, revised final day is now June 11
*Davison Schools - Final day is a 1/2 day on June 17, with the exception of
Hill Elementary... their final day will be June 20, with a full day
*Flushing - For elementary students, the last day is June 17 with a full day...
the middle school and high school will finish with a 1/2 day on June 18
*Grand Blanc Schools - Final day for most students will be June 16 with a full
day, however West Middle School and Reid Elementary will be in session until June 17,
with a full day and Brendel Elementary will end their school year on June 18, with a full day
*LakeVille Schools - Final day, district wide is June 13
*Bendle - Last day for students to be announced after spring break
*Flint Schools - undecided, announcement coming soon
*Genesee ISD - undecided, decision to be made soon

School administrators would like to remind parents and students that each school must achieve at least 75% of their attendance to receive each school's pro-rated state aid.
