To Karly Reidzans, the hiccups are no laughing matter. The 17-year old from Zeeland has been enduring an incurable case of the hiccups for nearly two years.

Boo!

That probably didn't help. Dr. Fain, a Pediatric Neurologist in West Michigan, says he's been unable to determine the cause of his patient's hiccups.

“We couldn’t say exactly what it is,” Reidzans said. “It seems to be some sort of a brain misfire is all we can say right now. There may be something about the way that her body perceives certain stimuli. It may be the way her body is growing. We don’t know for sure exactly.”

Fain tells WOTV that Karley could eventually outgrow the condition.
