A welfare recipient who says she gets to spend her days hanging out at home, visiting with friends, and even smoking weed, thinks people are foolish for choosing to work for a living.

Lucy, who called in to Austin, Texas radio station KLBJ, told morning show hosts that she plans to stay on welfare for the rest of her life. (Audio below)

"Our check's gonna come in the mail every month, and it's gonna be on time. We get subsidized housing, we even gets presents delivered to our kids for Christmas. Why should I work?"

The 32-year old went on to say that her parents were welfare recipients, and she doesn't really care if her three kids grow up to work, or be the recipients of government assistance programs too.

Lucy also doesn't feel any guilt about taking what is being offered.

"If somebody gave you a million dollars and said, 'Here, you ain't gotta work for it, no strings attached, here just take it, do whatever you want to do with it,' you would take it too. They're not giving me a million dollars all in my pocket at once up front, but over my lifetime, how much money's that gonna be? And I don't have to work for it."
