The average DC resident shells out $263 a month on these items, according to an analysis of government and private data by Bundle.com. Residents of Arlington, VA, a Washington suburb, spent the second most on clothes a month at $254.58, proving DC’s top placement is no fluke.

Rounding out the top five were Nashville, TN ($251.17 ); Scottsdale, AZ ($243.17); and Dallas, TX ($228.58).
