Volunteers Needed for Tornado Clean-up in Shiawassee County

If you're looking for ways that you can help out our neighbors, here's the info.

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department is still looking for volunteers who are willing to help clean up after the tornado damage from last week's storm. The National Weather Service has confirmed that not one, but TWO tornadoes touched down in the county last Thursday evening, leaving a swath of damage.

If you'd like to make a donation, they're asking for non-perishables and toiletry items. If you'd like to volunteer, call 989-743-2631 for more information. For assistance, donations or contributions 989-743-2635.

You can drop off food donations at Loaves & Fishes in Vernon, 120 E. Main Street from 10-2 PM any day this week.
