Volkslaufe 10k/20k/5k Races July 4th in Frankenmuth

The Volkslaufe, a.k.a. "The People's Race" will take place on the 4th of July in Frankenmuth. There are three different race distances, 10k, 20k and 5k plus a children's run. All races start and finish in Heritage Park. The 10k starts first at 8 am, followed by the 20k at 8:10 then the 5k at 10. The kids run starts at 11.

The race courses are flat and fast and attract a large and competitive field. Instead of trophies, the Volkslaufe gives out authentic German beer steins for those that win the overall and age group winners. As added incentive to run fast, they'll fill them with beer during the post-race celebration (at no cost). If you're speedy, you might want to bring a "D.D."
