Chairman and founder of Virgin Group Richard Branson said on his website yesterday that he will give unlimited vacation days to his 200 full-time employees.

His staff, spread throughout the US and the UK, already work "flexible" hours from the office and from home. Now, they are allowed to take as many days off as they want, provided that their work is up to date. Their supervisors are not required to keep track.

For the record, the US and Japan are two of the most "vacation-starved" industrialized countries in the world. Under Branson's policy, his company would actually save money, because they wouldn't have to pay out vacation time to employees that leave.

Branson has been open about his "love" for his employees, and says he wants them to feel cared for. He once won a $500,000 lawsuit and split it with his staff.

Branson says he was inspired by Netflix, which also has a similar policy.
