Who doesn’t love Oreos? The chocolate sandwich cookies with that amazing creamy center have been an American favorite for over 100 years. The National Biscuit Company, better known as Nabisco, has had variations of the cookie come and go over the years. This summer, get ready for Watermelon-Flavored Oreos.

While the classic cookie has a taste that takes all of us back to our childhood, this new variety sounds like it would be more of a bad memory from school. However, early online reviews are coming back positive. They will only be available for a limited time, and only available at Target. What do you think? Will you give ‘em a try? At least with a cookie, you won’t have any seeds to spit out or risk growing a watermelon in your stomach!

A Fort Myers teenager was fishing in the Gulf of Mexico when he spotted a a 30-foot shark in the water next to their boat. My reaction to seeing a shark of any size, let alone a 30-foot behemoth, would be to curl up in the fetal position and cry for my mommy. 19-year-old Chris Kreis’ reaction was the complete opposite.

Kries jumped in, swam up to, then rode the giant for several seconds.  Granted, it was a non-aggressive whale shark, but they are the largest fish species in the world.  Kries told WBBH,

When I started holding on I felt the whale shark it started moving itself, it felt the drag and it didn’t really want me on there so I let go and that’s it.

The whale shark was not injured during the encounter with the teen.  Scientists ask that GPS coordinates are reported where sightings of whale sharks occur to track migration patterns.  While riding whale sharks is not illegal, experts advise against coming into contact with them because it can be damaging to both humans and the fish.

The poor young fox’s head was stuck in a glass jar, when it approached two human strangers for assistance.

Yesterday, the fate of the weather ball was revealed.

The 56 year-old weather ball is here to stay, announced First Merit officials yesterday. FirstMerit is the mid-western banking company that purchased Flint based Citzens Bank. “FirstMerit is as committed to the communities we serve as Citizens Bank was,” said Sandy Pierce, vice chairman of FirstMerit Corporation. “We understand that the weather ball is a cultural icon, valued by the city.”

The weather ball will undergo a slight transformation, however. The letters CB (for Citizens Bank) will change to FM (for FirstMerit) at some point during the summer. It was hoped that the original letters could be preserved, but their condition is to fragile, and they will be recycled.

The ingredients are simple, and you probably have most of them in your kitchen already. Instant potatoes, milk, salt and pepper, butter, bacon, cheese and sour cream. The difference is in the execution, and I can’t believe no one has thought of this before.

Public health officials in Chicago hope that the graphic visual of a “pregnant” teen boy will remind sexually active young people that an unexpected pregnancy isn’t just the girls’ problem. The ad will be displayed close to schools and in parts of the city with the highest rate of teen pregnancy for about a month.

Whoever said that “the customer is always right”, never met this customer! Warning this is a NSFW video with strong language!

In this NSFW video, a woman identified as Taylor Chapman becomes the customer every clerk fears. She unloads some pent up anger that is targeted at a Dunkin’ Donuts employee. Fueling her anger is the fact that she didn’t get a receipt on her previous trip, and she wants a free order as compensation.

The real star of this video is the employee who maintains control and tries to patiently deal with the situation.

The employee, Abid Adar, was rewarded by Dunkin’ Donuts for his control under severe criticism from the customer. Dunkin’ Donuts tweeted the following:

The pregnancy “belt”, developed by the diaper brand Huggies, was developed in just four months, and replicates the sensations of a baby kicking inside its’ mom’s tummy in real time.

An ad for Huggies showcases the heartwarming results. The expectant fathers may be from Argentina, but the tears and expressions of joy and wonder are truly universal!

Now, if someone could just develop a way to give dads-to-be swollen ankles, morning sickness, raging hormones, middle of the night food cravings and constantly full bladders to appreciate the full joy of being pregnant!

The new study, in which Michigan State observed 3,749 people in public restrooms, revealed some information that might have you using latex gloves from now on!

Research was conducted by watching people’s behaviors in the restrooms of bars, restaurants and other public places. They found that after using the restroom, only 5% of folks washed their hands long enough to kill germs that could cause infections. Do the math…that leaves 95% of us leaving a bathroom with still dirty hands! The study also revealed that 33% didn’t use soap and 10% didn’t wash at all.

Specifics of the study also reveal that men have poorer bathroom habits than women. 15% of men didn’t wash at all, compared with 7% for women. Only 50% of men used soap. People are more likely to have better washing habits early in the day, and if there is a posted sign reminding them to wash before leaving the bathroom. People are less likely to wash in a dirty sink.

The CDC reminds us  that 20 seconds of vigorous  hand washing with soap is the single most effective thing that can be done to reduce the spread of infectious diseases, but the Michigan State study found that on average, people spend only six seconds doing so.

A truck caught fire after hitting a moose in Ontario, Canada this past Friday night.  The truck happened to be hauling fireworks of all things.  As you probably guessed, they started going off, causing officials to close the road for over five hours.  Both passengers were okay, but there’s no word on what happened to the moose.

Ambitious is not a word that should be used to describe this moron!

Orlando Shaw, from Nashville, is the 33 year-old father of 22 children from 14 different women.

Of course, Orlando does not pay child support. The state of Tennessee pays over $7500 each month to support Orlando’s offspring. The very fertile Orlando has been hauled into court several times, and has even served some jail time, but the magistrate is reluctant to put him behind bars again. The hope is that if Orlando is free, he is able to find a job to support his children.

Nicole Easton was cheered on and encouraged by her friends to jump off the roof of a building and into the pool. It already sounds like a bad idea, but Nicole decided to accept the peer pressure and make the jump, and then she missed the target. . In the process she broke both feet, and now mom wants the internet to pay for it.

Nicole’s mother set up a page on GoFundMe so people could donate to help cover the medical expenses..

If everyone who displayed viral video stupidity was paid for it, how fair would that be. Mom has a lot of spunk to ask others to foot the bill. But, boy, I’ll bet that hurt.

Costner was reportedly protesting the school district’s decision not to include prayers at this year’s graduation ceremonies; a district spokesman said Costner wouldn’t face disciplinary action. “We’re not going to punish students for expressing their religious faiths.”

Then there’s “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood”, another show I wish my kids will remember when they’re my age.  Fred Rogers retired in 2001, and passed away on February 27, 2003.  His show ran in reruns until 2008, but PBS is on to something that brings Mister Rogers back with a modern twist.

One year ago tomorrow, June 6, 2012, PBS Digital Studios released “Mister Rogers Remixed – Garden Of Your Mind“, and so far it has almost nine-million views!

There are a number of video’s out there of wedding proposals. This one is rather unique in that the bride-to-be is tricked into filming his proposal while she holds the camera. .

He asked his girlfriend to take a panoramic video of the sun setting. As she completes the panoramic view and returns to the starting point, she finds her boyfriend on one knee with the ring. The couple of seconds before she screams and the video ends make for a great finish!
