Their social media campaign has come to an end after just eight days.

Bet they're pretty excited right meow.

Last week, the Troy, Michigan Police Department decided to start a fun Twitter campaign: if they reach 10,000 followers, they'd get a police cat.

It only took eight days for them to reach their goal.

One of the Sargents for the department told the Detroit Free Press that they want to "do this right," so they're going to look into adoption, as well as who will be the cat's handler, etc.

Rest assured, we will stay on this very important story and bring you any updates that we receive.
