A few months ago we learned that several post offices could close due to budget problems, including some around the area. Now they're saying they need to make some major changes or else they could be out of business by the end of next summer. One idea they're looking into is stopping overnight delivery and shutting down processing sites, which means 35,000 jobs would be lost.

Fox News states the postal service could also deliver first class mail in two to three days instead of one to two days, which would save them $3 billion by 2015. With some of these ideas in place, workers are hoping Congress will help them with a proposal that is expected to be reviewed next week.

The post office also plans to continue reviewing several locations that have the potential to close if they think they aren't doing very well.
