U of M – Flint Student Selling Ad Space on Graduation Cap Raises $5,400

Townsquare Media

A University of Michigan – Flint student who decided to sell ad space on his graduation cap to help pay off his student debt has raised almost $5400.

WNEM says that 22-year-old Alex Benda had raised that amount as of Thursday. He was looking to rent out as much of the 100 square inches on his cap before he walks across that stage at Perani Arena on May 4. The idea was to cut down on as much of his $30,000 student loan debt as possible. Benda initially thought he would raise a few hundred dollars and so far, the amount he’s received have exceeded his donations.

Pretty smart!
