Belgian radio sure employs some tricksters!

Earlier today (June 23), news circulated that Tom Hiddleston freely admitted he'd been dating Taylor Swift during an interview with Belgium's Qmusic radio show. Welp, according to a press release from Hiddleston's publicist, the show has since admitted the whole thing was a fake — it was composed of spliced sound bites from a years-old interview with Hiddleston.

During the doctored interview, Hiddleston was "asked" how he'd describe his relationship with Swift, his rumored girlfriend of a few weeks. First, he seemed to put rumors to rest and implicitly confirm the relationship. Then he (didn't actually) compare the experience of dating her to an amusement park ride.

"I would describe it as a roller coaster ride of action and spectacle and lots of laughs," Hiddleston is heard saying.

"She is an absolute delight," the clip continues. "She's actually, um, she's got such a wicked sense of humor and she's a really fun person to have around. She's really great."

Hiddleston was first linked to Swift after The Sun posted images of the two "hugging and kissing" around Rhode Island’s Misquamicut beach "even though there were 20 people coming and going on the beach" in a June 15 story. E! reports the couple first met at May's Met Gala, where they infamously danced next to a table, even though there was probably a dance floor on the premises.
