August 21st is "National Senior Citizen Day."  A day of growing importance as our population ages.  Older Americans are living longer and fewer people are having children, so seniors are making up a larger percentage of our population.

Our seniors are a treasure because they've already been through all the stuff we're going through, and probably worse.  They invented most of the things we enjoy today, and if you ask nicely, they may share some of their wisdom with you.

President Ronald Reagan created this holiday in 1988 to recognize and show appreciation for the elderly in our society.

So wave hello to the mall walkers, and try to be patient if you get behind a slow-moving white Buick sedan.

Try not to laugh if you see a guy wearing a belt AND suspenders.  That might be my dad.  Although I'm sure he's not the only one.
