Tigers Sweep Sox, Win Streak At Four
Max Scherzer pitched 8 shutout innings and got just enough help from the Tiger hitters to complete a three game sweep of the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park this afternoon.
Scherzer is now 4-0 on the young 2011 season, and the Tigers find themselves on a 4-game winning streak after today's 3-0 victory over the White Sox. That's two shutout wins in a row for the Tigers, after Brad Penny pitched a gem yesterday.
Alex Avila continues to perform as he drove home the first run in the 4th inning on a bases-loaded groundout, then scored on Brandon Inge's double in the 6th. Austin Jackson also had two hits and drove in a run today.
Tigers have an off day tomorrow before hosting the Seattle Mariners for a three game series beginning Tuesday night.
The Tigers have won 9 straight games against the White Sox between this season and last.
