Brad Penny kept his team in the game for a few innings, but his control wasn't good tonight and he walked six batters, many of whom scored.  It didn't really matter, as the Tigers could only cross the plate one time in a 10-1 thrashing by the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Penny lasted a little over 5 innings and gave up 5 runs.  The bullpen did the rest of the damage.  Ramon Santiago hit a solo home run to account for the only Tiger offense.

The 4th consecutive Tiger loss drops Detroit to 22-22.  Max Scherzer will try to end this awful streak tomorrow night when he starts for the Tigers in a 7:05 game in Pittsburgh.  The game won't be televised.  Maybe that's a good thing.  This team has been pretty hard to watch lately.
