Some of the players responsible for prolonging the Tiger 7-game losing streak finally helped to end it.  Austin Jackson, Magglio Ordonez and Jose Valverde all made contributions in the 4-2 Tiger win over New York tonight at Comerica Park.

Scott Sizemore also made a big impact in his first game after being called up from Toledo.  Sizemore had three hits, drove in a run and scored a run.  Austin Jackson and Magglio Ordonez both chipped in with two hits and an RBI each, with Jackson scoring one as well.  Starting pitcher Brad Penny struggled with the talented Yankee lineup, but held them to just one run through six innings to get his second win as a Tiger.  Miguel Cabrera also drove home a Tiger run with a sacrafice fly.

The Tigers and Yankees will play again tomorrow night in Detroit.  Max Scherzer gets the start for the Tigers, hoping to start a streak of a different kind.  7:05 is the scheduled first pitch.

The Tigers sent second baseman Will Rhymes back to Toledo when Scott Sizemore got the call up.  Catcher/DH Victor Martinez is scheduled to come off the disabled list for tomorrow's game.
