“They brought me all these cards, and bears and kisses. And I love em,” she said.

This is Geraldine DIxon's first Vaentine's Day away from her husband of 52 years, MacArthur. He passed away this past January after a battle with Alzheimers. So this year, she received gifts and candy from children at the Family and Children's association of Long Island.

When her husband was sick, she turned to the association for help and resources on how to cope with her husband's declining health. When they heard that he had passed away, they decided to help.

"And I didn't even think about the sad time I was going through. My life just lit up. I love love. And that's what I needed. It was a lot of love today," she said.
