The Good News: Landlord Only Rents to Pit Bull Owners [PHOTO]

"I prefer renters with pit bulls because I know how hard it is to find a place to with live with one, for no reason other than the ignorance and labels."

Kara Mantalbano, an advertising executive who volunteers for Handsome Dan's Rescue for Pit Bull Type Dogs, is looking for somebody to rent her home in Providence, Rhode Island. She purchased the house a few years ago, because she couldn't find an apartment that would allow her to bring her own pair of pit bulls (and several fosters). She says that she looked for two weeks, and when she realized it was going to be a waste of time, she decided to buy.

She recently decided to move in with her boyfriend, a humane enforcement officer that she met through the rescue. So, when deciding on a tenant for her house, she says that she gives special preference to people with pit bulls.

"I have something that can sincerely help keep a family together, so why wouldn't I rent to a family with a pit bull?" she told the Huffington Post. "To me, this should be the norm, and I don't think I'm doing anything that I wouldn't expect other dog lovers to do."
