Her dog was so overwhelmed with joy that she couldn't even stand up.

Army private Hannah Foraker had been at basic training for three months in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. When she came home to Cleveland over Christmas, her homecoming was especially welcomed by her 13-year-old golden retriever, Buddy, whom she had grown up with.

“It pulled at my heartstrings to say goodbye, though having never actually left home before I didn’t realize the importance of giving proper goodbyes,” Foraker told Today.com.

Buddy is mostly deaf and suffers from arthritis, and after her emotional homecoming over the holidays, she has decided to keep in touch with Buddy through Skype before her next visit in November. She says that Buddy will even "lick the laptop."

Furry friends are some of the best friends, aren't they?
