The 36th running of the Crim Festival of Races is Saturday, August 25th.  This internationally known road race is one of the few events where Olympians and Everyday Joes can line up side-by-side.  Over ten thousand runners and walkers took part in the Crim 10-miler last year.

This year looks to be bigger, but there is still time to register and be a part of the parade of humanity on the bricks of downtown Flint.  If you act quickly, you can still save a few bucks on your entry.

Sign up by 2 pm August 22nd and you'll save 10 bucks off what you would pay if you wait for the race expo to sign up.  Genesee County residents get an extra $5 off if you sign up online.

If you don't feel up to doing ten miles, you can still be a part of the Crim race festivities.  8k (just shy of 5 miles), 5k (3.1 miles) and the Michigan Mile all give you a chance to run or walk a Crim event.

Don't forget the Teddy Bear Trot for the little ones.  It's never too early to encourage our kids to be active, and this is a way to get them started young and have some fun doing it.

This will be my 16th year running a Crim race, and my 15th consecutive 10-miler.  I have to admit, I really admire those hardy souls that have run EVERY Crim since 1977.

Can't run or walk?  The Crim always needs volunteers.
