Teenage Driver in Deadly US 23 Wrong-Way Accident May Have Been Drinking

Police say the accident claimed the life of 36-year old Mariah Bailey from Mt. Morris. Her 11-year-old son remains in critical condition following the accident. The Chevrolet Cobalt they were riding in was driven by 28-year old Bryan Collins from South Carolina. He is in stable condition.
The name of the 18-year old driver who struck the family has not been released. He was treated and released from Hurley Medical Center.

An accident that closed US 23 in Mundy Township last night (2/9) has left one person dead, and one badly injured. Unofficial reports indicate that a teenage driver with a blood-alcohol level of .16 was at fault. The 18-year old drove the wrong way on northbound 23, causing a head-on collision.
Social media contacts indicate that the victim was a 34-year-old woman who had recently gotten married. Her 11-year-old son is reported to be in critical condition.
