It debuted in August and is turning into a big success story. It's the Greater Flint Arts Council's free Jazz Walk in downtown Flint on the fourth Thursday of every month.
The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan is having their "Spooktacular Kidney Walk" tomorrow at 11:30am. It begins at Crossroads Village, and each walker is encouraged to wear a costume and everyone is expected to raise a minimum of $10. Those raising $100 or more will be eligible for prizes. The money raised from the walk supports life-saving services.
Petroleum industry analysts warned us that 4-dollar a gallon gas would be here before summer. It officially arrived yesterday, with no relief in sight.
The saying goes, "there are only two things certain in life, they are death and taxes". We can probably add the Tax Trot road races in Flushing to that list.
Remember the Spring/Summer of 2008? Gas prices in mid-Michigan were well above $4 a gallon. We didn't like it then, but a lot of us made some changes that decreased demand for oil which eventually brought prices down.
