Boy, what nine days off on vacation can do for you. Just retuning from a long vacation gives you a chance to remember what the real world is like. It seemed rather different this morning to have to put on long pants and shoes. I don't think I wore either during the entire length of my vacation. As I mentioned yesterday, our family vacation was loaded with fun, but we also dealt with some chaos.

On the second morning of our cruise, the ship was scheduled to dock in Nassau at 6:30am. Due to extremely high winds, the crew was unable to complete this task until closer to 8:30am.

As the ship was in the process of docking something went horribly wrong.

We stayed from a Sunday night through a Tuesday afternoon. Our hotel stay came with wristbands for unlimited use of water parks at three different hotels. I noticed that the resort town was not that busy during the week. In fact, we had the water parks completely to ourselves.

A few weeks ago, my son, Ben, and I had planned a trip to visit with my grandmother. She moved in with my aunt and uncle just outside of Washington D.C. about ten years ago, making it much more difficult to spend time with her.

Just days before our departure, our plans fell through and the trip was off. My son and I had both been really looking forward to a road trip with each other. A last minute change of plans landed us in Mackinaw Village.

Vacations Days – Cedar Point Here We Come!

It's one of our families favorite places to spend a couple of days of vacation. No, I'm not a big roller-coaster fan, but I am a big fan of the beach and water at the park. The picture that accompanies this was taken from our cabin at Lighthouse Point inside Cedar Point. The giant ore ships pass by there frequently, and often a pirate ship appears and fires their cannons. I assume this is a ride available at other locations around the bay.
