Max Scherzer pitched well enough to earn his 10th win of the season.  He didn't get it, but the Tigers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 8th to pull out a 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in a make-up game from a rainout from back in May.  Tiger Manager Jim Leyland had to watch his team win this one on tv, as he was thrown out for arguing with the umpires in the 7th.

It felt like April in the "D".  Early April, when the temperatures were closer to 40 than 70, and the Tiger bats had yet to thaw.  The Tigers managed to score a run in the first and Max Scherzer made that hold up through 7 innings before leaving with the game tied at 1-1, but then Joaquin Benoit came in to pitch in the 8th

Justin Verlander had all of his pitches working today.  The Tigers scored runs early and often, and the defense made some plays to help him to his second career no-hitter, just the 7th in Tiger history.  It was almost a perfect game

I am a baseball fan.  I love my Tigers, but like many of you can't afford  many trips to see them in person due to the astronomical prices of attending a Major League game.  Fortunately, we Flintoids live about an hour away from two minor league teams that are well worth seeing.  I mentioned the Great Lakes Loons in a previous post, but the Lansing Lugnuts are also a team you should check out.
