The pitching for Detroit was better, and the Tigers topped the previous night's season-high hit total by two.  All of this adds up to another Tiger victory, this time by an 8-1 score.  Starter Rick Porcello held the heavy-hitting Ranger lineup to just one run in six innings to rack up his sixth win of the season.

Max Scherzer had another rough outing for the Detroit Tigers.  After two consecutive starts where he gave up seven runs in each game, Scherzer only gave up five runs in five innings.  He got an awful lot of help this time, and left the game with a 9-5 lead.  The Tigers kept piling on, and Scherzer was rewarded with his 7th win of the season.

At least the game on Saturday was fairly close.  Today the Tigers were never really in it.  4 errors, mediocre pitching and spotty hitting let Kansas City get away with a 9-5 win over the Tigers.  Rick Porcello takes the loss and now sports an 0-2 record.  The Tigers are in last place in the American League Central with a 3-6 record.
